Itinerary of Barbera
Just outside Alba, on the Tanaro left along the road to Asti, winding hills riddled with remarkable results, the barbera grape variety. Heights are smoothed by a glaciation probably more recent than that of the Langhe that open amphitheater creating high quality production positions. The barbera grape variety sometimes alternates in these lands with nebbiolo with excellent results for both. From Alba, in the direction of Turin, one would arrive at Mussotto where, at the roundabout (after the fourth of the Tanaro bridge of Alba), the provincial, first exit right, begins to rise towards Guarene. Further up the road, dominating right the rugged hills of Roero, leading to Castagnito. Descending from Castagnito to the Village St. Joseph crosses the road no. 231 that you take on the roundabout the third exit on the left, reaches the Fraction S. Anthony of Magliano Alfieri. Leaving the expressway, to the left, climb for Magliano Alfieri capital. We suggest you to admire, at the parish church, as a large balcony, the spectacle offered by the Tanaro valley with hills on the horizon Langa. Left Magliano Alfieri, the provincial leads in Priocca. From here, just left the country towards Canove fraction, we take on the left, the road to Govone that, through the hamlet San Pietro, there comes winding through the vineyards. This route totaling approximately 25.5 Km, can be done by car or by bike. Cycling, the route presents some demanding stretches that require a good workout, as the climbs from Mussotto fraction of Alba in Guarene capital and from the S. Antonio capital to Magliano Alfieri.
